A couple weeks ago Jodo Canada held the annual Port Credit Jodo Seminar on March 1st and 2nd. The weekend seminar began with Iaido on Saturday led by Ohmi Sensei and Taylor sensei. We started with Zen Nippon Kendo Renmei Iaido, then transitioned to Tachi Uchi no Kurai in the afternoon session. The day wound wind down to an end after a great first day of learning. Seminar goers then ventured to the pub and rested up for the next day.
March 2nd featured the Jodo portion of the seminar led by Taylor Sensei and Morgan Sensei. Instruction for the morning session was focused on Kihon with partner practice. The afternoon finished with instruction on Seitei Jo. Overall, the seminar was successful and everyone benefited from the great instruction, and we look forward to the next time Jodo Canada can host another seminar.
The Jodo Canada AGM was also held the weekend after the seminar on March 8th. We will also be announcing selection of a new social Media Coordinator at the end of this month. Anyone interested in applying to this role should contact us at Jodo Canada via email at jodocanada@gmail.com by March 28th.
