The largest ring sport event in Ontario was completed today. Over 150 athletes from 41 clubs participated in the lasted CASK championship. Athletes and coaches from across the province travelled to Burlington for the 9th annual Ontario Championship. There were 82 bouts held over the 3 day tournament. Each day the tournament started on time and finished early!
This well oiled event is the result of the amazing team of CASK/CSC. The CSC Officials, Medical Team and volunteers from BAAC worked tireless to keep the event running smoothly.
Representatives from the Ministry of Sport were in attendance and were amazed at the safety protocols of CSC and the professionalism of the team of Officials.
There were a number of strong teams that travelled from Sudbury, Mississauga, North Bay, Peterborough, Hanover, Mattawa, Ottawa, Kitchener, Orangeville, Welland, Niagara Falls, St. Catherines, Cambridge, Stratford, Burlington, Hamilton, and across the GTA.
It was exciting to see the many young athletes that participated, many with the desire of qualifying for the 2014 Ontario Winter Games, and some looking forward to the 2014 World Junior Championship in Italy next fall.
The final tally of top winning clubs will be announced shortly.
